About This Trail
The highlight of any Inwangsan hike is the Hanyangdoseong β the ancient city wall of Joseon-era Seoul β that winds dramatically along the mountain’s rocky ridge. Walking beside those white granite ramparts with the glittering towers of modern Seoul in the valley below is one of the capital’s most striking visual contrasts.
After dark, Inwangsan becomes something even more special. The fortress wall is lit along its entire length, creating a glowing path across the ridge that attracts hikers, couples, and photographers alike. The views over Gyeongbokgung Palace and central Seoul at night rank among the best free viewpoints in the city.
